Marlene and I recently enjoyed an afternoon of hospitality at Windy Winery outside of Independence, Texas. The owner, Augie, invited us to stroll through the vineyard. While there I stopped to take this photograph. This tiny cluster of immature grapes began to whisper to me.
“I may not look like much now, but have patience. I am still young.”
“I am having a glorious time in the sun right now, but I am going to endure a few storms also. Take care of me, I have a long growing season ahead.”
“Before I become “All I Can Be”, I will be plucked, crushed, squeezed, and bottled up. I know this is necessary but I don’t look forward to it.”
“In time, I will grow into the fullness of all I am intended to be. The Master’s skill will bring out the best in me.”
“Enjoy and celebrate life with me.”
“When I am a memory, remember me well and enjoy the warmth of our time together.”
“Accept what life offers you and try to drink from every cup. All wines should be tasted; some should only be sipped, but with others, drink the whole bottle.” (Paul Coelho)
Celebrate life! It’s a gift beyond measure!
